Inspired by a trip to LA in April, I've created this Utopian image which I hope to get screen printed soon. I was really surprised and intrigued by the city and it's architecture. Expect more LA related nonsense soon...

MARY QUEEN OF SHOPS!

I'm so excited about sharing this. I had to wait until Mary's Birthday (today!) as the portrait was a surprise. It was commissioned by Melanie Rickey, editor at large of Grazia, for her wife-to-be, Mary Portas. The portrait is A1, made from various papers and 3D. I do love a good challenge. Melanie asked me to include references to Mary's life and career, for instance her shop reviews for the telegraph, her love of chunky jewellery and small birds and one of her favourite books -Love Poems by Carol Ann Duffy.
I was so excited to see Mary on the Jonathan Ross show, the very day that the portrait was framed and ready to deliver.
I've included some pictures of the carnage caused making this in my studio (okay, it's my bedroom, but ssshhh, I'm trying to look professional).
